If you're already running a linux box as a host. I would instead but Oracle's Virtual Box on your system. It's a type 2 hypervisor but it work like a charm and doesn't require you to switchover completely. But it does have limitations such as working with hyper-v.
Either is a good choice...you should be able to run your linux machines in hyper-v as well. I just think about what I want to be my daily use machine!
