I have a Mac user who we upgraded to Yosemite recently, when setting it up the admin put in their information to setup HD not the user. Now it is causing problems with saving preferences and corrupts Outlook sometimes. Is there a way to promote the current user to the owner of the machine? We have tried Administrator but it does not help.
You need to log out the admin, from apple id that is associated with that Mac. Then do a search for change the apple id of the mac. it will lead you to a support page that you'll be able to change it. http://supportprofile.apple.com
Before you do make sure the user you've assigned it too has an apple id to associate to the Mac
