Solved CCENT - "Configuring OSPF" Lab

Hey,

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but I'm having a problem understanding a portion of the "Configuring OSPF" lab (linked through the episode list). Under the header "Enabling OSPF" I see it listing the subnet for NYWAN1: 172.88.0.0/30. From inspecting the diagram I cannot find that subnet.

Further down the list under "Step 7," a "show ip route" command prints:

172.88.0.0 /16 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
C 172.88.0.0/30 is directly connected, Serial0/0/0.641
L 172.88.0.1/32 is directly connected, Serial0/0/0.641

I would appreciate if anyone could either provide some insight on what's going on, or point me to the proper forum.

If you look for NYWAN1 on the diagram. You'll see an interface for s0/0.
Your networks are attached here. The s0/0 interface was been configured as a sub-interface. This sub-interface is connected to the subnet 172.88.0.0/30 (only 2 valid IP addresses allowed) , it is directly connected. Also the sub-interface has an IP address 172.88.0.1/32 (32 indicating that single ip address on that sub-interface).
