I'm learning cloud fundamentals 98-369 and came across learning how to set up notifications in Intune. When I see the Intune admin console, I only see "updates"
What is the difference between notification & update?

Unsolved notifications v. updates

Hey Melissa,
That is a great question, when it comes to notifications they can be found in the Intune management console:
(Lefthand side) Admin > Alerts and Notifications > Notification Rules
However they need to have a recipient configured prior to configuration of the Notification Rule. Heres how to accomplish that:
(Lefthand side) Admin > Alerts and Notifications > Recipients > Add
From here you can add the email address of the contact that will receive notifications based on the rule that you configured, the defaults being:
All Alerts
Critical Alerts
Informational Alerts
Remote Assistance Requests
Warning AlertsYou also have the ability to create your own customized notification rule if you choose to. These notifications will alert any recipients that you have configures in the "Recipients" location when events happen.
Updates, however, are just like Windows Updates and these are controlled in:
(Lefthand side)Policy > Configuration Policies > Add > Computer Management > Updates
You can create an Update Policy based on a template or customize your own. These types of Configuration Policies can be useful in the context of controlling patch management on BYOD devices and devices that cannot join and Active Directory domain( in which case we would use WSUS). I hope this helps and please let me know.
Thanks,
