Don and Ronnie, I am currently doing the CCNP Routing course. I have just watched the VRF Lite episode and i have a question. When you configured "ip vrf forwarding customer 1" you enabled ospf for that instance, "router ospf 1 vrf customer 1"

When you added the new branch for customer 1 on int "lo9", you added it to the same instance "ip vrf forwarding customer 1". Since ospf was already running on that instance, why was it necessary to type the "ip ospf 1 area 0" command again? Please clarify.

    Thanks,
    Cecil

Hi Mike, thanks for responding. The account that i am using is a domain admin account. i also made the account a enterprise admin and a schema admin. I did all of the pre req install, extend the schema, and install the adk 8.1 and then started the install for system center. I choose the typical install which is going to install a local instance of SQL on my server. I am not sure at what step in the process to use SQL Server Configuration Manager to check the account that the SQL Server is using. Can point me in the right direction, thanks.

Just an update on where i am so far, i installed the ADK for windows 8.1 and that seemed to clear up the issues with the USMT and the Windows development Tools. I am still getting the error with the SQL install.

SQL Server service running account - Failed
Required SQL Server Collation - Failed
SQL Server sysadmin rights - Failed

It is not allowing me to install a SQL express or the native client. Not sure how you got it to work in the demo. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Cecil

Mike or Adam, i am building a home lab and i am trying to install SCCM. Everything goes fine until the prerequisite check at the end. I keep getting the errors listed below. I choose a local install for the SQL as you did in your demo. Can you say what might be causing the errors? Was trying to send you a screen capture of the error, not able to load pic.

SQL server service running account - Failed
User State Migration Tool (USMT) Installed - Failed
Required SQL Server Collation - Failed
SQL Server sysadmin rights - Failed
Windows Deployment Tools Installed - Failed
Windows Preinstallation Environment installed - Failed

I had installed the ADK for Windows 10. Not sure if that is causing the errors with USMT, WPE and the WDT. I am installing the ADK for 8.1 to see if those go away. Need help with the SQL errors.

    Thanks, Cecil

Good day to all. I have started the above course and i have a question for Mike or Adam. I have just watched the episode, creating a secondary site and i was not clear on an issue. Can a primary site stand on its own with distribution points or do you need a primary site, a secondary site and distribution points? I am watching the episode again to make sure i did not miss any important detail that was mentioned.

    Thanks, Cecil

Mike, i figured out what was causing the MTFTP to hang. I had created a dhcp scope just for the pcs' that would be using the pxe boot option. When i created the scope there was an option 43 & 66 that carried over from other active scopes on the dhcp server that was interfering with the wds tftp / pxe boot process. Once i disabled those options under the scope that i created for the pcs', everything worked fine.

    Thanks,
    Ceci

Mike, i reinstalled WDS. when the pc boots now i gets an ip address from the dhcp server and then it get stuck on "MTFTP....."
and it just sits there until it times out. Not sure what that means. Also can you tell me what permission the WDS needs over the remoteinstall folder. I dont remember seeing you do that when you were installing WDS. Also where do i find the tftp server logs?

    Thanks,
    Cecil

Mike, i built a wds server in a lab environment to do some testing. When trying to pxe boot from a pc i keep getting an error message saying "PXE-E3B: TFTP Error - File not found." Can you clarify what this means? Not sure what file it is fooking for. I have a 'boot.wim' file in the boot images folder. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Cecil
