Great to get a detailed explanation. I think your right the foundational aspect is key and getting the nailed down is most important no matter which Server OS you choose to study.
Keep up the good work everyone at ITPro.TV and thanks again Cherokee.
Firstly love ITPROTV, and hope I am asking this question in the correct place.
Do you feel passing the MCSA in Windows Server 2016 gives you the knowledge to deal with previous gen MS server OS's.
I love learning new stuff bring on containers, bring on PowerShell DSC and all that good stuff but I don't wanna walk into a situation where 2008 2012 R2 is going to be a problem.
Although the obvious choice is to do 2012 R2 MCSA and then upgrade to 2016 I really struggle to learn old stuff it's just how I am personally. But if the difference is so big between 2012 and 2016 then hey I gotta do it. Just thought anyone who has the experience in learning both may have some advice..
Any help or opinions would be gratefully appreciated.
