    Hi Guys,

With Server 2019 due out soon, has anybody heard any rumblings of how MS are going to "confuse" the licensing in order make it different from previous models. Need to get some new datacenter licenses and planning to get 2019 versions.

    Thanks

    Hi Hjalti,

Cisco do have different firmware images for different switches but the commands are generally the same. Features tend to be licensed for some of the more advanced functions.

Routers and Firewalls will have similar command sets to switches, but additional functions for the specific device type.

If you are just covering the basics of networking, setting up a GNS3 lab with a Cisco Layer 2 switch and a basic Cisco router should give you all of what you need. Networking hasn't changed that much over the years.

    Hi,

When I open a course in the Android app the shows are not in order. Jumping in and out of shows changes the order sometimes but doesn't always match with the website order.

Is it possible to have shows numbered so that we know which (suggested) order they should be viewed in? This would also help with downloaded items because downloaded items in the app are listed in the order you downloaded them in with no indication as to the show order when lots of courses are downloaded together.

    Thanks

    Hi Waqkas,

If the are ISO 27001 then I would hope they would have network diagrams and plenty of documentation.

My starting point would be Network Diagrams, Server/Systems documentation and Security posture reports. If they are using monitoring tools, you might get a network diagram from this.

    Hi Maria,

Worth mentioning that if you are planning to certify in SQL, the MCSA for SQL 2012 requires 3 exams whereas the MCSA for SQL 2016 only requires two exams.

The Querying SQL 2012 and querying SQL 2016 are similar exams.

    Good Luck

    Dale,

You could also try running a powershell script to remove the apps. You could possibly run this as a logon script.

I sometimes have to go to sites to carry out a network audit. This isn't a security audit such as a Penetration test but is more about assessing the setup of the network, servers and roles to recommend updates and changes that would help them perform better, improve redundancy consider DR and any other issues that come to mind. I also look at password policies etc and try to consider the elements of ISO 27001.

I'd be interested to know if anybody else does this type work and if so what they carry out (do they use a template), what tools they use and what they produce for the customer.

    Thanks guys

@Mark-Sammon Actually just ignore me, the option to add the CAS role is available in the CU update, I missed it.

Would be interested to know if anybody knows if it is actually unsupported? If so why is the option available.
